Demi Lovato Posts Beautiful Bikini Photo in Honor of Body Positivity

Demi Lovato has always shared her struggles with body issues.

Recently she fought her own fears and posted an unedited photo of her in a bikini.

“This is my biggest fear. A photo of me in a bikini unedited. And guess what, it’s CELLULIT!!!!”

Lovato has been in the spotlight about her eating habits, interviewing with American Way in 2017, saying that she started binge-eating and purging at the age of 9 then dealt with a scary overdose in 2018. Today, she stands proud of herself saying,

“I want this new chapter in my life to be about being authentic to who I am rather than trying to meet someone else’s standards. So here’s me, unashamed, unafraid and proud to own a body that has fought through so much and will continue to amaze me…”

She’s stepping out to work again in TV and film and is reportedly working on a new “honest as possible” album. She’s ready to tell her story openly.

“It’s such a great feeling to be back in tv/film while not stressing myself with a strenuous workout schedule before 14 hour days, or depriving myself from a real birthday cake rather than opting for watermelon & whip cream with candles because I was terrified of REAL cake and was miserable on some crazy diet sh^t.”

These are such powerful words that you can feel her struggle and strict guidelines she gave herself in the past. And she has advice for her followers too.

“…here’s me, RAW, REAL! And I love me. And you should love you too!”

And she continues giving a touch more honesty throughout her post.

“Just so everyone’s clear.. I’m not stoked on my appearance BUT I am appreciative of it and sometimes that’s the best I can do. I hope to inspire someone to appreciate their body today too.”
