School pictures are a special time of year for parents everywhere – mostly because we’re waiting with bated breath to determine which of our kids looks the silliest this year.
I mean, the backgrounds, the derpy smiles, the fact that they’re sweaty and scuffed and dirty no matter how long we spent getting them ready…it’s no wonder, really, that one set of parents decided to ruin pictures on their own terms.
And in the process, kind of won.
Look out, Biddeford Intermediate School, because Jake’s ID picture is going to cause envy among the masses.
His dad, Craig Arsenault, posted the photo on Facebook and stated that he “couldn’t be happier” with the way the photos turned out.
The post has racked up more than 5,000 comments and 32,000 shares.
Craig told HuffPost:
“Jake was wondering what he should wear for school pictures, and we had this costume laying around from two years ago when he wore it for Halloween. My wife Kari just blurted out that he should wear it.
Jake didn’t want to at first, so I told him I’d give him 10 bucks to do it, as it would be hysterical.”
They even wrote him a note, lest the school protest on their behalf.
The result? People actually dressed up for Halloween AS Jake!
And here we are.
I have to say, I agree with the parents – it is hysterical, and it’s definitely a picture that’s going down in family history.
