When people ask me if I’m a cat person or a dog person, I say “yes.” If it’s cute and furry, I want it in my house. Even if, as with a lot of cats, they don’t necessarily care if I live or die.

That’s almost part of the charm of a cat. They’re moody. They’re independent. But they can also be highly affectionate. It’s the kind of bond that doesn’t come automatically, but with time, and love.

Oh and also they’re super duper cute so pretty much everything they do is amazing by default. Here are some examples.

10. The great search

I once fre*ked out while cat-sitting and called the owner nearly in tears to tell them I thought I’d lost their kitty. She was hiding in the rafters.

9. Tooth and fang

Don’t mess with the fuzz.

8. Dark circles

This cat is at least 1/4 raccoon and there’s nothing you can say to convince me otherwise.

7. Floof

THIS IS WHY WE LET THEM GET AWAY WITH EVERYTHING, THEY ARE SO CUTE.

6. If I fits…

The box will always be the most intriguing part of any item for a cat.

5. Marching in

Swiggity swooty, I’m coming for that cutie.

4. If you can’t take the heat…

Congratulations, it’s like 6 babies.

3. Locking it down

I’m so, so happy for them.

2. The summoner

What black magic is this that disturbs my eternal slumber?

1. Whisker whiskey

Screw it, I got like 7 lives left.

While writing this my own cat has been meowing at me for no discernible reason as I try to explain to her that I’m crafting a tribute to her kind. She seems unimpressed. I love her so much.

What’s the weirdest thing about cats to you?
