I count myself among a small number of very lucky people who have never gone under the knife. I’m sure it will happen at some point, and I’m definitely not looking forward to it.

Especially not after reading through the stories these people tell about not how hard the surgery was, but how much worse it was to recover from the physical trauma.

11. When it rains it pours.

Such a bummer thing to find out at that time.

10. That certainly sounds discouraging.

I can’t believe there’s THAT much recovery time.

9. Ouch!

Busting a stitch is crazy! Hope it was a good joke!

8. They should have some kind of policy about that!

I mean… how did you navigate all that, though?

7. Just remember it’s not forever.

I bet that hurt A LOT!

6. There’s nothing easy about that.

Just go to a meeting. I’m sure you can find support.

5. Maybe even worse.

Looks like a mule kicked you!

4. The problems of owning a cat.

Get off, pussy!

3. Which part I wonder.

I bet it’s the guy… yeah… it’s the guy.

2. Your parents sound sh^tty.

Plot twist… it’s been three years since their surgery.

1. Not being able to sleep is torture.

Yikes! That’s why they’ve got pain meds.

Nope, going to hold out on that whole surgery thing for as long as possible! I don’t need it if this could be the result.

Have you had a surgery? Do you find the recovery worse than the actual procedure?

Tell us all about it in the comments!
