Man’s Hilarious Apartment Tour Video Goes Viral

Source: @sandybatchelor on Twitter

Sandy Batchelor is an actor and producer living in London. Recently, he made quite a splash on Twitter when his letting agent (basically a broker who helps make deals between landlords and tenants) asked him to make a quick tour video of the apartment he’d been living in, as his lease was, for whatever reason, getting unexpectedly terminated.

Sandy doesn’t go into detail in the post about what led to all of this, but it’s clear he has no interest in trying to help sell this place to next poor sap. Consequently, the video is full of colorful language, descriptions of exactly how bad everything is, and little signs on the walls that flash by in the footage warning potential renters to stay away.

“DON’T RENT THIS FLAT!”

This sign comes just before the kitchen segment of the tour, where Sandy explains that the stove is “complete pish,” and that the washer/dryer “Isn’t much of a dryer unless you like your clothes still wet and smellin’ a bit funny.”

“YOU WILL HATE IT HERE!”

In the bathroom portion, he says “When we first moved in this extractor fan wasn’t working, and I had to take a video of it not working before the landlady would send someone ’round to fix it.”

“THERE IS A GHOST! WHOO!”

This sign is on the door to the garden (what Americans would call the yard), a door which “gets stuck in the winter, cause the wood expands.”

Sandy then proceeds to insult whomever installed it, though I can’t quote him, because he’s using slang I don’t understand at all.

“I AM A FREE, I AM NOT MAN, A NUMBER”

The final sign appears in the bedroom, and is a play on the recently popular meme of the horribly stupid sign from a London lockdown protest:

Of the bedroom, he remarks, “There’s a damp problem up here [in the corner]. I told the landlady about it and she sent an email back saying to keep the place well-ventilated. In f*****g January?!”

The Wardrobe Reveal

The video closes with this stunning shot. “This wardrobe, that’s ours. That’s coming with us.”

If you love this and want to help the guy out, he’s currently crowd funding for a film project he’s working on. Maybe toss him a few bucks to help him keep creating great entertainment.
