The world is kind of on fire (and also literally on fire), so more and more, some of us are yearning for the simpler time when we grew up.

It was the 90s – the internet was in its infancy, cell phones were something our parents used for emergencies only, and the television shows we watched were delightfully wholesome and cheesy.

If any of this describes you, then there’s a good chance at least a few of these images are going to get your nostalgia going full steam.

Little Missie loves music, just like all of my family. I am so glad to see my kids are music lovers and am always looking for new things to add to our growing collection of instruments and noise makers. I especially like ones that are okay for a 3 year old to play with and this works perfectly. I picked up a recorder for her from the dollar store at Christmas time but it had really cruddy sound. It was near impossible to play, though it does make some sound. This one is so much better. I am very impressed with how clean and crisp this sounds. It is easy to play, the different notes come out clear and loud, and you can actually tell what the music note is supposed to be when you play it, unlike the mismatched tone of the cheaper versions. This reminds me more of what the ones the 4th graders in our area play when they learn to play the recorder for music class. I love that it comes with a fingering chart and a carrying bag. You can really learn how to play it and then keep it safe between practices and peformances. It comes in multiple different colors. The color we chose is blue, though it is a little girl who has been playing it. I am very impressed and pleased with this recorder and though the constant noise of the high pitched blowing can get tiresome at times, it is nice knowing she has something to help foster her love of music. And my boys have done a great job of working with her every now and then to show her how to play it correctly. I mean, I don’t want to go back to high school or anything, but these pictures definitely gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling.
