There’s a poem by Shel Silverstein that oddly reminds me of being single. It goes like this:
“I asked the Zebra,
are you black with white stripes?
Or white with black stripes?
And the zebra asked me,
Are you good with bad habits?
Or are you bad with good habits?
Are you noisy with quiet times?
Or are you quiet with noisy times?“
It goes on a bit from there, but you get the point. And that’s a poem that I think about often when it comes to relationships. Like, am I a single guy who’s occasionally with people, or am I a coupled guy who’s sometimes single? It may seem trivial, but how you think of yourself in that regard matters, I think.
Because some guys really love their default state being single, and they have their reasons, as these anonymous contributions will attest.
